I don't know why people such as Jack Montgomery have been treating this as if it's so improbable. At the time it was pretty clear to me at least that this was what they were trying to do. They had knowingly and with forethought pushed inflation up to record levels through their disgusting "furlough" programme (during their "lockdowns"), emptying billions of pounds of borrowed money directly into people's salaries. Then they tried to bring it down again by crushing wages, crushing growth in real terms, crushing productivity and economic optimism, crushing our culture, crushing our hopes, crushing our lives.
